Blog # Meta’s ad specs now list 1440-pixel Stories Same shape, bigger file. What changes for the sizes you make, and what doesn’t. Abinash Senapati Founder, eonik 25 Oct 2026 2 min read In short Meta’s ads guide lists 1440×2560 for Instagram Stories and Reels and 1440×1800 for the Facebook Feed, where many published size charts still say 1080. The shapes, 9:16 and 4:5, are unchanged, and so is the safe zone. Make new masters at 1440 wide, and work the safe zone out again in pixels at that size. On this page What stays the same What changes Working it out at 1440 What to do this week Sources We checked every size in our resize guide against the platforms’ own pages this week, and two did not match what we had written. Meta’s Stories and Reels specs give 1440×2560, and its Feed image spec gives 1440×1800. 1 2 3 Many published size charts still give 1080×1920 and 1080×1350. ## What stays the same The shape. 1440×2560 and 1080×1920 are both 9:16; 1440×1800 and 1080×1350 are both 4:5. A layout made for one fits the other without moving anything, so no existing layout is wrong. The safe zone is also given as a share of the frame (14% top, 35% bottom, 6% each side), so it lands in the same place at either size. 1 ONDERA First mile. Display sizes are not part of this. Google lists them in exact pixels (300×250, 728×90, 300×600), the size the ad is shown at, so a banner is made at its listed size and no larger. 4 ## What changes Two things. First, the master: a master made at 1080 wide has to be scaled up to reach 1440, and anything scaled up loses sharpness, so new masters are better made at 1440. Second, anything written in pixels: a template that marks the top band at 269 px is right for 1080×1920 and short by 89 px at 1440×2560, where the band is 358 px. Placement Many charts say Meta’s guide lists Shape Instagram Stories, Reels 1 2 1080×1920 1440×2560 9:16 Facebook Feed image 3 1080×1350 1440×1800 4:5 As listed on 25 Oct 2026. 1 3 ## Working it out at 1440 1440 is 1080 times 4/3, so every pixel measurement in a template multiplies by 1.333. The safe zone comes out like this, and anything else written in pixels (the logo’s distance from the edge, the size of the legal line) moves the same way. On a Story At 1080×1920 At 1440×2560 Top band (14%) 269 px 358 px Bottom band (35%) 672 px 896 px Each side (6%) 65 px 86 px Room left for text 950×979 px 1267×1306 px Example: a logo 48 px from the edge 48 px 64 px Meta’s percentages worked out at each size. The last row is an example. 1 A video at 1440×2560 is a larger file than the same video at 1080×1920. Check what your own upload and review steps accept before you move a whole video set up a size, and keep the 1080 exports until the larger files have run once without trouble. ## What to do this week - Update the size list your media plans are made from, so new work starts at 1440, and tell whoever writes the plan, so the list they send you matches. - Rework any pixel measurements in your templates: the safe-zone guides, the logo’s distance from the edge. - Leave finished 1080 work alone. It is the right shape. In eonik Resize lays out each shape around the same parts, so a size list that changes from 1080 to 1440 wide changes nothing in how a set is laid out.
