Learn / New ads # How to tell an AI video generator from a tool that makes finished ads A video generator makes a clip from a prompt, and the best ones make remarkable clips. A finished ad is that clip and everything a brand has to get right before it runs. Abinash Senapati Founder, eonik Updated 3 Nov 2026 4 min read Checked against Google’s Veo page and Meta’s advertising standards, AI labels and placements on 3 Nov 2026 The short answer An AI video generator turns words or a picture into a clip. A tool that makes finished ads takes a clip, or your own footage, and makes the ad: your real product, logo and fonts, the words as real type, every size the placements need, a check against your brand, and approval. You keep control when every step is shown for your approval before the next one, and nothing goes out until your team says yes. - A generator makes clips; an ad maker finishes ads. - A finished ad needs the real product, real type, every size and approval. - Control means approving the script, each frame and the layout in turn. - Most teams use both: generated shots inside a finished ad. On this page Know what a generator gives you List what a finished ad needs Know where generated video goes wrong in an ad Test where the control sits Use both, each for its part Questions to ask before you choose Common mistakes Questions Sources The two are easy to confuse because both start with words and end with video. They answer different questions. A generator answers “can you show me this?”. An ad maker answers “is this ready to run, in every size, for our brand?”. Knowing which question a tool answers is most of choosing one. What you need - The ad you need: its message, its product and its placements. - Your brand’s logo, fonts, colours and rules. - Clean photos of the product from every side the ad shows. ## Step 1 Know what a generator gives you A current video generator is very good at its job. Google’s Veo, for example, makes video from text or from an image, with sound, and can be guided by reference images of an object; the clips in Google’s own evaluation are 8 seconds long, and every one is marked with an invisible watermark. 1 A generator is good at It does not do A scene you could not film Lay the clip out for every placement Motion, light and sound for a shot Set your price, offer and legal line as real type Many takes of the same idea Check the result against your brand’s rules Following a reference picture Collect your team’s approval What a generator makes, from Google’s Veo page read on 3 November 2026, and the work that is left. ## Step 2 List what a finished ad needs An ad has to be right in ways a clip does not. It must show the product the customer will receive, match the landing page and make no claim the product cannot keep. 2 It has to fit each placement it buys, from feeds to Stories and Reels. 4 If generative AI made or edited it, Meta labels it with “AI info”. 3 - The real product Its shape, colour, label and size, as in your photos. - Real type The name, price, offer and legal line, spelled right in your font. - The brand Logo, colours and fonts on every page. - Every size Laid out for each placement, not cropped. - A check Against your brand’s rules, before review. - Approval A named person says yes before it runs. A generator gets the first row right only when your photos carry the product, and small text is where generated video drifts most. How to get your real product into a generated ad covers both. ## Step 3 Know where generated video goes wrong in an ad A clip that looks right at a glance can still be wrong for an ad. The faults that matter are the ones a customer would notice next to the real product, and they show up in the same places. Where it drifts What a viewer sees What keeps it right The product A pack almost like yours, a label nearly spelled right Your photos carrying the product in every frame Small text A price or claim with a wrong letter Real type set in the edit From shot to shot The product changes between scenes The same photos guiding every shot Speech Words that do not match the mouth Real voices; Google says natural spoken audio is still in active development 1 The faults that matter in an ad, and the step that prevents each one. None of these is a reason to avoid generated shots. Each is a reason to check every frame against your photos before a clip is made, and to make again any shot that drifts. ## Step 4 Test where the control sits The worry with any AI tool is losing the final say. Control is not a setting; it is whether the tool stops for you. Ask of any tool, eonik included, whether you see and can change each of these before the next step begins. Step You keep control when You lose it when The script You read and edit it first It is written and used unseen Each frame You approve every frame before it moves A prompt goes in and a finished video comes out The layout You see every size and change any of it Sizes are cropped automatically Going out Nothing ships until your team approves It is published or uploaded for you A test to apply to any tool: does it stop for you at each step? ## Step 5 Use both, each for its part Most teams end up using generated shots inside finished ads. The generator makes the scenes nobody could film; the ad maker puts your product, your words and your brand on them, lays them out and takes them through approval. Part of the ad Made by The idea and the script Your team Scenes you cannot film A generator, guided by your product photos Your footage and the product shots Your team, or a creator The finished ad in every size An ad maker The yes Your team Who makes each part of an ad that uses generated shots. ## Questions to ask before you choose A demo shows a tool at its best. These questions show how it works on your ads. - Does my product come from my photos? Or from the model’s idea of it. - Can I see every frame before it moves? And make one again without starting over. - Is the text real type? So the price and legal line are spelled right. - Are sizes laid out or cropped? A crop loses what sits near the edge. - Does anything go out without my yes? It should not. Neither kind of tool can say how an ad will perform, and one that claims to is guessing. The ads you run, and how they do, are the only measure. ## Common mistakes - Judging a generator by whether its clip is a finished ad . - Letting a model describe the product instead of your photos carrying it . - Choosing a tool that publishes without an approval step . - Expecting either kind of tool to say how an ad will perform . Doing this in eonik In eonik you approve the script, then each frame of your real product, before anything becomes video; every size is laid out, checked against your brand and waits for your team’s approval. The parts an ad must get right, the real product, the price as real type, every size and an approval, are work done after the clip. ### What is the difference between AI video generators and software that produces complete branded advertisements? A video generator turns words or a picture into a clip, and the best ones make remarkable scenes. Software that produces complete ads takes that clip, or your own footage, and finishes it: your real product, logo and fonts, the words as real type, every size, a check against your brand, and approval. Most teams use both. ### Can I use an AI ad production tool without losing control over the final creative? Yes, when the tool stops for you at each step instead of turning a prompt into a finished file. Check that you can read and change the script, approve each frame before it moves, see every size, and that nothing goes out without your team’s yes. eonik works in those steps, and every page waits for approval. ## Sources - Veo , Google DeepMind .
