Learn / Every change # How to change one line on every size at once The price moves on Thursday and the set is already made. How to change it on every size without missing one. Abinash Senapati Founder, eonik Updated 26 Oct 2026 4 min read Review rules checked against Meta and the FTC on 26 Oct 2026 The short answer Write the change down exactly, old words and new, then find every place it appears on every size, including the shortened forms. Make it once and apply it to all of them, check that each size still fits the longer or shorter line, update the legal line if it depends on the change, and send the whole set back for approval. On Meta, an edited ad may be reviewed again before it runs. - A line rarely appears once. A price sits in the headline, the price tag and the legal line, often in a short form on the small sizes. - A longer line reflows: a four-digit price can push the button off a 300×250. - The ad has to match what the landing page sells, so the page changes with the ad. 3 - On Meta, an edit to an ad that is already running may send it back to review, which is typically done within 24 hours. 1 On this page Write the change down exactly Find every place it appears Make the change once, and apply it to every size Keep the legal line and the landing page in step Send the whole set back for approval Common mistakes Questions Sources Most changes to a finished set are small: a price, an end date, a product name, a line of small print. They are also where sets go wrong, because the same line lives in several places on every size, and the one size nobody reopens is the one that ships with the old price. The fix is to treat a change as a list, not as an edit. What you need - The change in writing: the old line, the new line, and when it takes effect. - Every size of the set, and the master. - The legal line in full, and who approves changes to it. ## Step 1 Write the change down exactly Before anyone opens a file, write the change as a line of its own: what it says now, what it will say, and from when. A change that lives only in a chat message gets made differently on every size. Kind of change Where it usually appears What else it touches A price Price tag, headline, button text The legal line, if it names the price or an end date An end date Legal line, sometimes the headline The landing page, and the date the set is taken down A product name Headline, photo, legal line The photo, if the product looks different A legal line The foot of every size Its smallest readable size on the small banners What a change usually reaches across a set. Check your own master for others. ## Step 2 Find every place it appears Go through the master and every size and mark where the line appears, including the short forms. A price tag that reads the full offer on the feed sizes is often cut to the bare number on a small banner, and on a Story the headline might repeat the price the tag already shows. Each one is a place the change has to land. - The price tag on every size Long and short forms. - The headline and any secondary line Where the price or date is repeated in words. - The legal line If it names the price, the offer or the end date. - Video cuts The end card, and any caption that says the price aloud. - The file names If they carry the price or date. ## Step 3 Make the change once, and apply it to every size Make the change in one place and carry it to every size, rather than typing it again on each one. Typing it again is how one size ends up with the new price and another with a typo in it. Then look at each size, because a line of a different length moves everything around it. ONDERA First mile. Each size keeps its own layout; only the price is new. Drawn for this page. A price going from $999 to $1,299 adds two characters. On a 4:5 feed ad that is nothing; on a 300×250 it can push the price tag into the button, and on a 320×50 mobile banner it can push the button off the edge. A shorter line can leave a gap the layout no longer fills. Re-check each size after the change, not just the master. Check in order of risk, not in the order the sizes were made. Start with the smallest banners, where a longer line has the least room; then the tall sizes, where a line that grows can push the price into the platform’s bottom band; then the feed sizes, which have the most room and are the ones everyone looks at anyway. Note any size where the new line forced another change, such as a shorter headline, because that size now carries a change the approver did not ask for and has to see. ## Step 4 Keep the legal line and the landing page in step A change to the offer usually changes what the small print has to say. Under Meta’s Advertising Standards, the product an ad promotes must match the one on the landing page, so a new price on the ad needs the new price on the page the ad links to, at the moment the ad goes live. 3 The FTC’s guidance on digital ads asks for a needed disclosure to sit close to the claim it qualifies and to work on every device and platform the ad runs on. 2 A legal line that changes on the feed sizes and not on the banners fails that on the banners. - The legal line matches the new offer On every size, the small banners included. - The landing page shows the new line From the moment the changed ads go live. - The old set is retired So the old price cannot run again by mistake. ## Step 5 Send the whole set back for approval Send every size back, not just the ones you think changed. The approver is checking that the new line is right everywhere, and they can only do that seeing the whole set. Then plan the platform’s side: Meta says its ad review is typically completed within 24 hours, may take longer, and that edits to an ad’s creative are among the changes that may lead to another review. 1 Step Who Plan for The change is approved Your approver The whole set, side by side The landing page is updated Whoever runs the site The same moment the ads change The edited ads are reviewed Meta 1 Typically within 24 hours, sometimes longer Meta’s review time, from its ad review page. 1 ## Common mistakes - Changing the master after the sizes are made . The sizes do not follow it; every one is now wrong. - Typing the new line again on each size . One of them ends up different from the rest. - Forgetting the short forms . The small banners keep the old price because the change was searched for in its long form. - Changing the ads and not the landing page . The ad no longer matches what the page sells. Doing this in eonik Change the line on one size and choose to apply it to every size. eonik puts the new line on every page of the set, each in its own layout, and shows them side by side for you to check before anything is sent. A change is approved as a set: the approver needs to see that the new line is right on every size, and that nothing else moved. Sending only the sizes you changed is how the one you missed gets through. ### Will editing a live ad on Meta reset it? It may send it back to review. Meta lists edits to an ad’s creative among the changes that may result in another review, which is typically done within 24 hours. Plan the change so the new ads are approved before the old offer ends. 1 ### What if the new line does not fit a small size? Shorten something else on that size, usually the headline, and keep the price and the legal line exactly as approved. If it still does not fit, that size needs its own layout for the new line, and it goes to the approver as a change of its own. ## Sources - Ad review, policy and support , Meta for Business .
