How to Fix AI Video Pacing in DaVinci Resolve
Generative video feels "floaty". Here is how colorists and editors are hacking Resolve to make AI clips feel like real camera footage.

If you've played with Runway Gen-3 or Kling, you know the feeling. The visuals are stunning, but the motion feels bizarre. It is too smooth, too slow, and lacks the kinetic energy of a real camera operator.
When you drop these clips into DaVinci Resolve or CapCut, they drag the pacing of your entire edit down. Fixing this requires more than just a simple speed ramp.
Why does AI video pacing look wrong?
AI video models generate motion by interpolating latent space, which often results in a uniform, 'floaty' slow-motion aesthetic. To fix this, editors must manually override the pacing using Optical Flow speed ramping, adding synthetic motion blur, and introducing post-process camera shake (like Resolve's Camera Shake OFX) to ground the artificial motion in physical reality.
Real footage has micro-stutters, shutter angle blur, and human imperfection. You have to add that back into AI video.
