How to Script a Modular Video Ad
You cannot programmatically assemble a video if the script was written as a linear narrative. Here is the framework for modular scriptwriting.

The biggest point of failure when teams attempt to adopt programmatic video assembly happens before the cameras even roll. The marketing team writes a script that tells a single, continuous, linear story.
If the actor uses the phrase "And that's why..." to transition from the intro into the body, you have ruined the modularity. You can never swap out the intro, because the grammatical transition is permanently baked into the footage.
What is a modular video script?
A modular video script is constructed like software code rather than a screenplay. It is broken into distinct, independent blocks (e.g., Block A: Hooks, Block B: Value Props, Block C: CTAs) that have no grammatical or visual dependencies on each other. An actor performs all 5 variations of Block A, pauses, and then performs Block B. Because the sections do not visually or audibly bleed into one another, an assembly engine can algorithmically stitch any combination of A + B + C together without the final video feeling disjointed.

Once you train your copywriters to think in discrete blocks, the math works in your favor. Writing 3 extra hooks takes five minutes. But when fed into an assembly engine, those 3 hooks multiply the total ad output exponentially.
