Round of changes
What it meansOne pass of notes from the approvers on a version of a set, the changes made in answer to them, and the new version sent back. A round ends when every note has been done or answered; a set usually needs one or two before the yes, and the count of rounds is what decides whether a launch date holds.

The shape of a round
| Stage | Who | Ends with |
|---|---|---|
| Notes | The approvers | Every note on the page it is about |
| List | The maker | Every note on one list, conflicts settled |
| Changes | The maker | Each change on every size it touches |
| Answers | The maker | Every note marked done, done differently or declined |
| New version | The maker | The set back with the answered list on top |
The stages of one round. Each ends with something the next stage can check.
What it means in practice
Every round has a cost beyond the changes: the approver reads the set again, and the date moves. Plan the launch date around two rounds, and spend the first on the claims and the legal line, which can change a layout, so the second can be about the look. A round with no list behind it tends to become two rounds, because notes get missed.
Count rounds honestly, and write the count down. A third round usually means something upstream was unclear: the brief, the claims, or who approves what. Fixing that before the next set is quicker than a fourth round on this one.
If the ads are already running, a round of changes reaches the platform too: Meta lists edits to an ad’s creative among the changes that may result in another review, which is typically completed within 24 hours.1
Common mistakes
- Starting changes while notes are still arriving.Later notes undo earlier changes.
- Sending a new version without saying what changed. The approver reviews everything again, and the round doubles.
