How to get your real product into a generated ad

A generated scene is only an ad if the product in it is yours. How to keep the bottle, the label and the colour true from the first frame to the last clip.

Abinash SenapatiFounder, eonikUpdated 26 Oct 20264 min readChecked against Meta’s policies on 26 Oct 2026

The short answerStart from real photos of the product, from every angle the ad will show, and let those photos carry the product while the words you write describe only the scene around it. Check every frame and every clip against the photos (shape, colour, logo, label, size in the hand), make again any shot where the product drifts, and keep shots that turn the product to a side you have not photographed out of the ad.

  • The product comes from your photos; the scene comes from your words. Never ask the generator to imagine the product.
  • The ad must show the product the landing page sells.1
  • Labels and small text drift first. Put the product’s name and price on in the edit, not in the generated picture.
  • Meta labels ads made or significantly edited with generative AI “AI info”, including some made with outside tools.2

Generated video is very good at scenes and unreliable about specific objects. Ask for “a bottle of our serum on a bathroom shelf” and you get a convincing bathroom and a bottle that is almost yours: the right colour, the wrong cap, a label that says nothing. An ad that shows almost the product is not the product, and it is the one thing an approver must refuse.

What you need
  • Clean photos of the product: front, back, both sides and the angle the ad opens on, in true colour.
  • The product’s exact colours and its label as artwork, if you have them.
  • The scene you want, written down: where, when, what light, what happens.

Step 1Photograph the product from every angle the ad will show

Decide which sides of the product the ad will show, then make sure you have a clean photo of each. A generator that has seen the front will invent the back when the bottle turns. The photos are the reference every frame and clip is checked against, so they have to be the real thing, in true colour, on a plain background.

Step 2Describe the scene, not the product

Write the words for the scene around the product: where it is, the time of day, the light, what is happening, where the camera is. Leave the product out of the words beyond its place in the scene (“on the shelf, front facing the camera”). The photos say what it looks like; the words only say where it goes.

Instead ofWrite
A sleek amber serum bottle with a gold capOn the shelf, front to camera, in morning light
Our running shoe, orange with a white soleMid-stride on a wet street, low camera, dawn
A box of our tea with the logoOn a wooden table beside a steaming cup, box facing the camera

Words that describe the product invite the generator to redraw it. Words that place it leave the product to your photos.

Step 3Check every frame against the photos

Before any frame becomes a clip, put it beside the product photos and compare them as an approver would. The checks are the same every time, and the most important are the ones a customer would notice when the parcel arrives.

CheckWhat driftsIf it drifts
ShapeProportions, the cap, the sole, the handleMake the frame again
ColourThe product shifts toward the scene’s lightCorrect to the product’s colour, or relight the scene
LogoSimplified, mirrored or missingMake the frame again; never accept a near-logo
Label and small textTurns into shapes that look like lettersCover it with the real label in the edit, or reframe
SizeToo big or too small in a hand or on a shelfMake the frame again with a reference object

What to compare in every frame, and what to do when it does not match.

Text is the hardest part for a generator and the easiest for an editor. Put the product’s name, the price and any words on the pack into the ad in the edit, as real type over the real label, rather than hoping the picture spells them. If a line of text has to sit over the scene, keep it at a contrast an approver can read: a widely used measure asks for 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.3

Step 4Keep the product steady when it moves

Movement is where a correct frame turns into a wrong clip. The more the product turns, the more of it the generator has to invent. Plan shots that move the camera or the scene around a steady product, and keep turns of the product to the sides you photographed.

When a clip drifts halfway through, keep the half that holds and cut there. A two-second shot that is right is worth more than a four-second shot that changes the product at the end.

Step 5Approve against the product, not the picture

The approver’s question is not “does this look good?” but “is this our product?”. Send the frames and the clips with the product photos beside them. Meta’s Advertising Standards prohibit misleading practices and require an ad’s products to match those on its landing page;1 an ad that shows a cap the product does not have fails both. Meta also labels ads made or significantly edited with generative AI “AI info”, so plan for the label.2

Common mistakes

  • Describing the product in the words. The generator redraws it from the description instead of using your photos.
  • Trusting the label in a generated frame.Check every letter, or replace it with the real artwork.
  • Turning the product to a side nobody photographed. The generator invents it, and the invention ships.
  • Approving on looks.A beautiful frame of almost the product is still the wrong product.
Doing this in eonik

Attach the product once. eonik carries the real thing into every shot, never a model’s idea of it, and you see each frame before a single clip is made.

Questions

How many product photos are enough?

One clean photo of every side the ad will show, plus the exact angle of the opening frame. If the product never turns in the ad, the front and the opening angle can be enough; if it turns, every side it turns to needs a photo.

Can a generated ad show a product that is not made yet?

Only as what it is. An ad must not mislead, and the product it shows must match the landing page.1 A render of an unreleased product is a picture of a design, and the ad should not present it as the thing a customer receives today.

Why add the name and price in the edit?

Because small text is what generators get wrong most often, and an editor gets right every time. Real type over the real label is spelled correctly, in the brand’s font, and it can be laid out again for each size.
